Ackermann names 40 for Vodacom Super Rugby

Emirates Lions coach, Johann Ackermann, named 40 players in his squad for the upcoming Vodacom Super Rugby tournament. Ruan Combrinck, who will only return later in the competition, has been named amongst the backs, but Julian Redelinghuys has not. He underwent neck surgery last year and has not recovered yet.

A number of players, including Combrinck, Rohan Janse van Rensburg, Faf de Klerk, Jaco Kriel, Franco Mostert and Malcolm Marx, earned Springbok colours last year, pushing the numbers of international players in the squad to 10.

The squad is:
