Griffons beat the Leopards

The Down Touch Griffons beat the Leopards 40-29 in their Currie Cup First Division match at the HT Pelatona Projects Stadium in Welkom on Saturday afternoon.

The Griffons, formerly known as the Purple People Eaters, scored six tries as they snacked on the high-flying visitors. Barend Potgieter and Tertius Maarman scored a brace each while Cody-Anthony Basson and Marwana Nkululeko also crossed the whitewash. Duan Pretorius was successful with five conversions.

The Leopards replied with tries through Gerhard Nortier (2), Robert Hunt and Henro-Pierre Swart, with Schalk Hugo kicking three conversions and a penalty.
