The Boks - with the Webb Ellis Cup in hand - kicked off the first scheduled visit on Wednesday in the northern areas of Port Elizabeth, after these parts were missed during the original Trophy Tour last November, due to circumstances beyond their control.

Kolisi, Mbonambi and the others in the group started at the Cleary Park shopping centre in Bethelsdorp, where they interacted with an enthusiastic crowd of supporters.

This followed by a short drive to the CW Hendricks Primary School in Uitenhage, where a jubilant crowd of 3 000, comprising of mostly school learners, greeted the Springbok squad members with a deafening welcome on their arrival.

The programme on Thursday consisted of an early morning visit to a local radio station and an hour long drive to Grahamstown, where learners from 14 schools attended the gathering at the Makana indoor training facility. Kolisi, Mbonambi and Bok assistant coach Mzwandile Stick answered some questions from learners, and handed out some prizes.

Stick, a former Blitzbok captain, hails from New Brighton in Port Elizabeth and he gave am inspring talk to the eager listeners.

Kolisi learnt his rugby in Zwide, while former Blitzbok star Fabian Juries, and current Vodacom Bulls wing and Blitzbok speedster Rosko Specman both grew up in Grahamstown.
