The Bulls Daisies have clinched top spot in the Premier Division standings – as well as the right to host a semi-final and potential final.
The Pretoria-based side will be gunning for a 12th straight win – and keep their unbeaten run intact – when they face their Gauteng neighbours, the Mastercard Golden Lions Women, in Alberton in the south of Johannesburg on Saturday. The Daisies have accumulated a maximum of 55 log points to date.
DHL Western Province have all but secured a home semi-final. Unless they sustain a heavy loss to the EP Queens in Cape Town on Saturday, they will finish the league phase in second place.
The Queens currently sit in seventh position, having lost 10 of their 11 matches, and will be keen to finish the season on a high at City Park, but they will be up against the odds against the team that topped the standings in 2021 and 2022.
Border Ladies have already completed their league campaign, and look set to finish third in the standings, unless there is a big upset in Cape Town, which will see the defending champions move up to second spot.
Boland Dames booked their place in the semi-finals when the claimed a 28-5 bonus-point win against the Sharks Women in Durban on Wednesday, in a match that was postponed from earlier in the season.
The KwaZulu-Natalians will be playing for pride when they tackle the Bolanders in the rematch staged in Vredendal this Saturday.
