The South Africans led 20-3 at halftime and scored seven unanswered tries in the end to finish the U20 series - which was hosted by SA Rugby at Paul Roos Gymnasium’s Markötter Stadium and supported by World Rugby, Rugby Africa and UK Sport, with R10 the title sponsor - with a clean sweep of three wins.

Earlier on Tuesday, Tunisia beat the San Clemente Rhinos by 34-17 for their second victory of the series, but the week belonged to the Junior Springbok Women, who showed the future of women's rugby in South Africa is bright with a good performance against Uganda.

The comfortable victory means a clean sweep for the South African girls, who managed to beat Tunisia and the San Clemento Rhinos in their previous two outings.

Uganda made a promising start when they forced the SA U20s into conceding a few early penalties, from which they converted one to lead 3-0.

Robyn Strydom scored two tries against Uganda.

However, the Junior Bok Women then sorted out their discipline and started to play some enterprising rugby with ball in hand, which delivered four tries in the opening half.

Speedy wing Robyn Strydom set the wheels in motion when she was on hand to take a pass from flyhalf Sindisiwe Mbonja before going on a brilliant run. When she was brought down, Mbonja was on hand to take the pass and dive over for the first try of the match.

Bustling No 8 Bronishia Hess extended the lead to 10-3 and that was followed by two tries from Strydom, who outflanked her opposition on both occasions to score out wide to make the halftime score 20-3.

They tried their best, but the gallant Ugandans were unable to match the powerful home pack. They did however defend heroically to prevent the SA U20s from completely dominating.

Sindisiwe Mbonja was a handful on attack.

With their powerful pack creating a good platform, the Junior Bok Women's backs had plenty of opportunities to showcase their attacking flair. However, stout defence and a couple of handling errors meant that many promising moves went astray.

South Africa's bench made a telling impact, with Melissa Younie (replacement fullback) and Anushka Groenewald (replacement hooker) also adding their name to the list of try scorers to seal a deserving win.

An emotional Strydom was deservingly presented with the Player of the Match accolade afterwards, while Hess and Mbonja were equally impressive for the Junior Bok Women side.
