The DHL Stormers trailed 10-9 after a frustrating first half in which handling errors denied them from threatening to score a try, and this saw them rely on flyhalf Manie Libbok’s boot for all their points.

The tables turned for the Capetonians in the second half as they showed more composure on attack and applied pressure in the scrums and through their effective defence, and the rewards followed with Libbok slotting over his fourth penalty goal, while Zas crossed the tryline twice to hand them the victory.

Libbok had the first say in the match as he slotted over a penalty goal, but the Cape side found themselves trailing 10-3 in the second quarter as Salmaan Moerat (lock) was shown a yellow card for a high tackle.

The Dragons took full advantage of this with Josh Lewis (fullback) scoring a try, which Sam Davies (flyhalf) converted before adding a penalty goal to give his team some breathing space on the scoreboard.

The DHL Stormers, however, forced their way to a 10-9 halftime deficit with two late penalty goals by Libbok.

The first points after the break were scored 23 after play resumed as Zas gathered a stunning grubber kick by Warrick Gelant and he scored another stunner two minutes before the final whistle as he booted the ball into space after a turnover scrum and gathered it from a defensive fumble to touch down for the second time.

Libbok’s fourth penalty goal in between stretched their scoreline, which saw the team complete their tour on a winning note.
